IWC Schaffhausen Takes Center Stage at the 82nd Members’ Meeting in Goodwood, England

Each year, members and fellows of the Goodwood Road Racing Club gather for an exclusive and intimate weekend of motor racing, high-speed track demonstrations, and other festivities. In anticipation of the release of the movie F1, official partner IWC Schaffhausen took center stage at the event with actors Damson Idris and Kerry Condon sharing insights into their experiences filming, the opportunity to check out an original race car used in the movie, and a stunt demonstration showing how high-precision car chase scenes are filmed in Hollywood.

On the west coast, music lovers flocked to the most anticipated festival of the season: Coachella. While the headliners included Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone, there were (of course) a slew of special appearances by artists like John Mayer, Lorde, and Billie Eilish. We all know Coachella isn’t just about the music. It’s a display of self-expression from the costumes to the couture worn by spectators. Watches certainly didn’t steal the limelight, but we did spot rapper Travis Scott wearing an insane 18-karat white gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar with over 1,000 diamonds.

Swatch Group Raises Its Prices (Again)

A storm is brewing for the watch industry thanks to record high gold prices, a dramatic change in exchange rates between USD and CHF, tariffs, decreased demand in China and Hong Kong, and price declines in the secondary market. Swatch Group is the first to respond with its second price increase for the U.S. market this year, hitting buyers with a 10% hike.
