Happy Friday, friends! I’m starting a new OOTD series, highlighting outfits that bring me joy. Today, I’m excited to share a recent favorite Rent the Runway find, Cecilie Bahnsen’s Susa Dress. Tangerine Dress by Cecilie Bahnsen: My Thoughts
I stumbled upon the Susa Dress on Rent the Runway. As an RTR Unlimited member, I pay for three monthly shipments of six styles. I’ve been a Rent the Runway member for over a decade; it’s the best way to try designer styles.
To be honest, the bold tangerine color of the Susa Dress was a bit daunting at first. I’m typically reluctant to wear bright colors with my pale skin (don’t be fooled by the spray tan here). But I’ve been seeing Cecilie Bahnsen’s designs everywhere, and I wanted to try one of her dresses myself. I decided to take a risk and rent, and I’m so glad I did.

As soon as I slipped into this tangerine midi dress, I understood the magic of Cecilie Bahnsen. This midi dress is the perfect summer staple with its unique tangerine hue. Bright orange is not a color I would consider romantic or ethereal, but the Susa Dress is somehow both. The cascading ruffles create a dreamy, fluid silhouette, while the thin spaghetti straps add a delicate touch. The voluminous skirt is roomy and comfortable, while still adding a luxurious flair. And the low, open back is an unexpected, ethereal touch. This tangerine dress feels like a vintage gem but still gives off a modern vibe.

Don’t love bright orange? The Susa dress is available in a variety of colors, including black, navy blue, and a personal favorite lavender. Crafted from pure cotton, this dress is as practical as it is trendy, offering easy machine-wash care.
Sizing
Cecilie Bahnsen’s sizing is based on UK sizing. The Susa Dress is true to size and designed in a fit-and-flare silhouette. Expect the Susa to be fitted at the bust but loose at the waist and hips. I’m 5’10” and wearing a UK8, equivalent to a US 4.
